Quality Control HQ is a London, UK based DIY label that started in 2011, born from a dream to help put UKHC on the map, and out of love of vinyl and paper stock nerdery. We specialise in New Wave of British Hardcore and love supporting our local community, however we have also released hardcore punk by bands from USA, Sweden and Singapore amongst other places around the world!

Who is QCHQ?

QCHQ is just one person so please bare that in mind when sending emails or making orders. We still have a day job and operate as a DIY label and distro. This is not Amazon. We are doing this out of love for the hardcore punk community. With that in mind, we love our customers and we also thank you for your support.

How are orders shipped?

Orders under 2kg are sent via Royal Mail untracked 2nd class within the UK and International Standard everywhere else as standard. However, you can choose tracked shipping when checking out. We recommend this for large orders.
Shipping prices do not include the cost of specialist packaging, which is add in at check out. We wanted to be as transparent as possible.
Orders over 2kg are sent via courier service. We to keep prices low and reasonable, but your parcel will sometimes go through a courier that just takes a little more time. You will be emailed your tracking number and can track it along the way however so you know where your parcel is at all times.
We also offer a pick up option for anyone in London, United Kingdom. Simply choose “Local Pick Up” in the shipping option menu.
Generally we ship 1-2 times a week and you will be notified when your order has shipped so you know when your parcel is on it”s way. Sometimes these emails end up in your junk mail though so always check there first.

We go on shipping hiatus during the week of Christmas due to the chaos that is Royal Mail during this time. We also know parcels take a very long time to arrive if shipped out during this week. Therefore if you are an international customer, and want something to arrive in time for Christmas, please order at the beginning of December. We also ship more often during December to get things out faster.

How are orders packed?

We use extra strong Defendapack mailers with extra cardboard inside to stiffen the parcel AND reinforce corners with sticky tape. For larger orders we use extra strong mailers with extended “false” edges to protect the corners of records. We do everything to ensure your order arrives safely as we are also record collectors and care about your order.

Mail not arrived yet?

We are not responsible for lost mail and are always happy to provide proof of postage from our post office. If your area has a tendency to lose mail then we would recommend to let us know you want tracked mail. We have been sending records around the world for 10+ years and have a great track record for mail arriving safely, we are not here to rip anyone off.

Parcel taking an oddly long amount of time to arrive?

A common solution we see with lost mail is that local postal services do not leave notes if an order has been attempted and your parcel is LP sized. Nine times out of ten when you phone your local depot or go there physically your parcel is waiting for you and they just didn”t leave a note saying they tried to deliver. Please always do this first before contacting us.

Can you hold my orders and consolidate later?

We are happy to combine postage, keep stuff aside and ship whenever the size of the hold pile is big enough to guarantee a better shipping rate. Please indicate this in your order note, and choose the local pick up option in the shipping section of your order.
